Succession and Stewardship: Preserving and protecting family values, wealth and legacy by Doug Towill, Senior Vice-President,. Strategic Business Development
The transfer of wealth is a major concern for Canadians. What will help a family avoid squandering its wealth and instead build a legacy that endures multiple generations? One key solution is the family meeting.
Advisors are stepping in to help facilitate these critical sessions aimed at preventing inheritance dissipation, and helping the next generation become wealth stewards. For many, “wealth” entails more than money or the things it can provide; but few know how to establish a glide path for their heirs to land safely with their inheritance intact.
